2. Twitter has a website/ Threads is not operational on a website

16-year-old Twitter was originally launched as a website. The website gained popularity and over time, its mobile apps were launched. Whilst Threads is launched as a mobile-first experience like Instagram. The threads website is not available as of now.

3. Login System

Login in Threads is using an Instagram account only. While Twitter has an independent login system using email, phone number, and username.

4. Text Limit

Except for paid Twitter blue users, the text limit for users for every post on Twitter is 280. For threads, this limit is 500 characters for all users.

5. Direct Messaging

Threads do not have the direct messaging feature which allows users to directly message other users via the app, twitter has this feature.

6. Hashtags

Hashtags cannot be searched on Threads, while Twitter supports hashtags.

7. Feed preferences

Threads’ feed shows posts from everyone, irrespective of which account the user is following, whilst Twitter feed has two options: one feed shows posts on the basis of followers and the other option shows feed based on user preferences.

Both platform charge 799 per month for blue tick. Blue tick in the case of Threads, is transferred from Instagram.

9. Editing posts

On Twitter, premium users can edit the tweets, but Threads does not have the option of editing the post yet.
